Hazel M. Lynch, 92, of Charles City, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Hazel Marie Horn Lynch was born September 11, 1914, at Charles City, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Vogt) Horn. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1932.

On October 23, 1936, she was united in marriage to John Lynch at Charles City. For many years they owned and operated Johnnies Tavern in Rudd and later Johnnies Café and Truck Stop at Swan River, Minn. John died on December 12, 1972. After his death Hazel moved back to Charles City.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Saint Jude Circle, Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens. Hazel liked to do needlework and go out for coffee and visit her friends.

Living family members include a sister, Iva Volbrecht of Wichita, Kans.; a brother, Harold Horn of Grinnell; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Howard Horn; and three sisters, Lillian Mark, Helen Miller and Ida Mrotzek.
