Darwin "Doc" LeRoy Maser was born on August 10, 1955, at Waterloo, the son of LeRoy “Bud” and Alene (Beal) Maser. He graduated from the LaPorte City High School in 1973.

On August 2, 1974, he was united in marriage to Margaret Eichenberger at Charles City. “Doc” worked as a quarry truck driver for many years. His interests included tinkering around the house, fishing, playing cards, cribbage and working crossword puzzles.

Living family members include his wife, Margaret “Marge” Maser of Charles City; two sons, Micheal Maser of Winthrop, and Jason (Tina) Maser of Mason City; a daughter, Dawn (Jose) Pizano of Austin, MN; four grandchildren, Ariana Pizano, and Hailiegh, Timothy and Elijah Maser; six step grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Maser of Bakerfield, MO, and Darryl Maser of Vinton; two sisters, Joleen Maser of Waterloo, and Lois Wilcoxson of Clinton, OK; two half brothers, LeRoy Maser Jr. and Eugene Maser both of Wisconsin; and two half sisters, Shirley (Roy) Wyatt and Barbara (Duane) Kimpton both of Wisconson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great niece, Rachel Reuter.
