She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Pittsburg, Kansas, in 1945. On October 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Raymond A. Johnson at Columbus, Kansas. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Vilmar. Helen enjoyed cooking and doing needlework. She particularly liked making quilts and afghans.
Helen will be remembered as a person that liked to help everyone as seen in her teaching Bible school in Parkersburg, making homemade noodles for charity dinners, donating stuffed animals to Iowa City Children’s Hospital and making clowns for children. She was very talented. Her family will always remember the many fishing and camping excursions they had together.
