MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — James Buschmeyer, 33, of Marble Rock died Sunday (Aug. 28, 2005) at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. following a courageous fight with Leukemia.

Funeral services for James Buschmeyer will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S Main in Charles City, with the Rev. A.C. Wegner, pastor of the Faith Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.

James Frances Buschmeyer was born on July 21, 1972, at Omaha, Neb., the son of Edward and Nancy (Thomas) Buschmeyer. He graduated in 1990 from Saint Edward High School in Saint Edward, Neb. James attended Platte College in Columbus, Neb.

He worked for several years in Columbus in the automotive parts industry and then returned to Platte College to attain his computer networking degree in 2004.

On Oct. 13, 2000, he was united in marriage to Theresa Springer Berends at Columbus, Neb. They were the parents of two children, both of who died in infancy.

James and Theresa moved to Marble Rock in 2004 where James was employed by Curries Manufacturing in Mason City until the time of his illness.

He will always be remembered by his family and friends as a very strong man with a wonderful and unique sense of humor and outlook on life. He was devoted to his family, had a warm fondness for animals and found great joy in many forms of music. James will be greatly missed, always loved and always remembered.

Living family members include his wife, Theresa and three stepchildren, Bethany, Kayla and Devin all of Marble Rock; his parents, Edward and Nancy Buschmeyer of Saint Edward, Neb., and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his children, Christian James Thomas Buschmeyer and Jamie Elizabeth Buschmeyer; his maternal grandparents, Lillian and Howard Thomas; and his paternal grandparents, Henry “Boney” and Gretchen Buschmeyer; and several aunts and uncles.
