Charles City, IowaWilliam "Bill" Brennan, 53, of Charles City, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at his home of cancer. Bill entered his Lord's presence while surrounded by loving family and friends. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
William Eugene Brennan was born April 20, 1953, at Fort Dodge, the son of Bernard and Vivian (Gernhart) Brennan. He graduated from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School in 1971 and attended North Iowa Area Community College.
Bill was united in marriage to Lou Bucknell on April 8, 1982 at the Little Brown Church. Bill worked at Fareway in Charles City while at home with his parents.
He then worked at Bissonnette Chevrolet in Charles City, Coopers in Osage and was proprietor of Bill's FS and Bill's Auto Detail before returning to his career in the grocery business. Bill then worked for HyVee in Charles City, Econofoods in Charles City until their closing and was currently at Econofoods in Clear Lake.
One of his favorite pastimes was working on cars. His 1969 GTO was one of his pride and joys. Bill enjoyed visiting with people and also helping people in whatever way he could, being remembered as the “quiet helper”. Family, however, had first place in his life and he always looked forward to spending time with them.
Living family members include his wife, Lou of Charles City; three children, Amy (Kevin) Krueger of Floyd, Heather (Aaron) Thompson of Olivia, MN and Adam (Keri) Hull of Osage; three grandchildren, Anna Hull and Emma and Lily Thompson; his father, Bernard Brennan of Charles City; his mother, Vivian Brennan of Mason City; three brothers, Joe (Kayla) Brennan of Osage, Bernie of Mason City and Neal (Tammie) of Plymouth; a sister, Sandy (Richard) Wilde of Osage; his father-in-law, Cletus Bucknell of Ionia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Gloria Bucknell.
