Charles City, IowaKenneth Bode, 93, of Charles City, Floyd Coounty, Iowa, died on Friday, March 2, 2007, at his home in Charles City.
Pastor David Werges of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
Kenneth Dale Bode, was born August 5, 1913, the son of Cornelius and Eva (Miller) Bode in Goodell. He attended school in Goodell. Kenneth joined the Army and fought in World War II and the Korean War.
On January 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to Pearl Morgan in Texas.
They moved to a farm near Charles City and raised four children. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Moose Lodge, and the Labor Center of Charles City. He enjoyed hunting; fishing; and spending time with his family.
Living family members include his wife, Pearl Bode of Charles City; four children, Helen (Rick) Winters of Wyoming, Larry (Collen) of Colo., Roy Bode of Charles City, and Gerald Bode of Colorado; seven grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Griggs of Sheridan, Wyoming; a brother, Paul (Dixie) Bode of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Darwin and Ralph Bode.
