Robert Earl Biddle was born March 30, 1931, at Newman, Illinois, the son of Robert and Gladys (Lamb) Biddle. He graduated from the Shelbyville High School, Shelbyville, Illinois, in 1949.

In June of 1950 he married Shirley Bryson. They later divorced. On May 6, 1984, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Weigel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Robert started working for the Oliver Corporation in 1949 at Shelbyville, Illinois and was then transferred to the White Farm Corporation in Charles City where he worked as a Senior Industrial Engineer until it closed in 1993. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1294 in Shelbyville, Illinois since 1952. Robert’s interests included NASCAR, golf and collecting model Oliver tractors.

Living family members include his wife, Cheryl of Charles City; five children, David (Christy) Biddle of Shelbyville, Illinois, Teri Taylor and Amy Biddle both of Springfield, Illinois, Scott Ross of Osage, and Brian Ross of Charles City; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his mother, Gladys Biddle of Springfield, Illinois; a brother, Frank Biddle of Shelbyville, Illinois; a sister, Francis Williams of Springfield, Illinois; and his dog and special companion, Buster Brown Biddle.

He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Tina Ross.

Memorials may be directed to Moose Heart Children’s Fund or the American Cancer Society.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Robert Biddle, 73, of Charles City died Saturday (Jan. 22, 2005) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services for Robert Biddle will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. Dennis Niezwaag, pastor at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be directed to the Moose Heart Children's Fund or the American Cancer Society.
