Tena Reckner, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the age of 102. She passed away peacefully at Cedar Health.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Fullerton Funeral Home in Charles City. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Tena was born on June 5, 1906, the daughter of Augusta and Ida (Hahn) Lubbert in Riceville, Iowa.

She married Benjamin Reckner on May 31, 1928, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Chickasaw county, Iowa. Tena had lived in Charles City for the last 80 years. She had been employed as a housekeeper and as a seamstress at the Floyd County Hospital for 30 years. Tena was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge of Charles City.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Reckner of Westerville, Ohio; by three grandchildren: Michael (Deborah), Mark (Valarie) Reckner and Marilee (Mike) Hepp; by five great-grandchildren: Steven, David, Matthew, Jason, Daniel and Bradley; by four great-great-grandchildren: Joshua, Chase, Jackson and Gabriella; and by many nieces, nephews.

Tena was preceded in death by her parents; by eight siblings; by her husband, Ben; and by sons Donald and Russell.

Arrangements were by Fullerton-Hage-Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Charles City, Iowa.
