Dale H. Hinz, 59, Charles City, died on Thursday, April 21, 2005.

Dale Harry Hinz was born September 30, 1945, in Waterloo, the son of Harry and Gladys (Faust) Hinz. He attended school in Hudson and graduated from Janesville High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force following High School and served his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged he farmed and worked with Wayne Engineering of Cedar Falls.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Brincks on June 16, 1973, in Janesville. Dale worked for White Farm Equipment. He then worked for Top Notch Feeder Pigs for 12 years.

He was presently employed with Unverferth Manufacturing and farmed and drove semi for Knapp Farms. Dale was an active and dedicated member of Cross Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and council member and was member of the VFW.

He enjoyed playing 500 with the card club, watching NFL games on TV, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed local dirt track stock car racing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Living family members include his wife, Joyce, Charles City, daughter, Paula Givens, Mason City, and son, Jason Brincks, Charles City; two grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Givens, Mason City; five brothers and sisters, Marcy (Ken) Kristensen, Hudson, Dick (Cora) Hinz, Cedar Falls, Jane (John) Martin, Waterloo, Harold (Joyce) Hinz, Denver, Rose (Chuck) Demuth, Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Hinz.
