Ellen Gauger, 91, of Charles City, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Ellen Ruth (Johnson) Gauger was born August 27, 1914, the daughter of Elmer and Martha (Pinkelman) Johnson. She worked for most of her life in retail sales in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. Family was very important to Ellen and she looked forward to spending time with them.

Living family members include her son Darwin (Janice) Groesbeck of Riverside, Calif.; two granddaughters, Angel Andreas, and Shauna vonHanstein; three great granddaughters, Lindsey (William) Stanley, Brandy Andreas and Alexa vonHanstein; one brother, Donald Johnson of Charles City; and two sisters, Evelyn Merrill of Charles City and Ruth Martin of Charles City; and a sister in-law Evelyn Johnson of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard Gauger; one brother Floyd Johnson; and two sisters Maurine Holschlag, and Neva Lienau.
