MASON CITY, IOWA - Charles J. "Chuck" deBuhr, 68, of Mason City, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, and formerly of Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at his home.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Jon M. Seda officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Iowa.
Charles was born on December 5, 1939, in Rockford, Floyd county, Iowa, the son of Gerhardt and Agnes (Nugent) deBuhr. He attended Rockford High School and graduated in 1958.
After graduation, Chuck went to work at the Ford Motor Co. in Mason City until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed country music, watching NASCAR, and anything that had to do with Fords. Charles also liked to spend time outside taking care of his flowers. He was known for his humorous personality and was very funny.
He is survived by his sister, Mary K. Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio; his nephews, Dan (Jodi) Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Michael (Rebecca) Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio; his niece, Jennifer (Brian) Simmers, of Alpine, Wyo.; his great-nieces and nephews, Danielle and Alexa Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio, Emily, Abbey, Parker and Kate Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Jack Campana, of Alpine, Wyo., along with many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
