Max Swab, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and formerly of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died on Friday, September 12, 2008, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Graveside services for Max Swab will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene. Pastor Gary Van Wert, of the Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Max Dale Swab was born on October 20, 1927, at Marble Rock, Floyd county, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Elsie (Kivell) Swab. He received his education at Marble Rock. Max proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge from the Army Max returned home and continued his farming career.

Living family members include a sister-in-law, Wreatha Swab of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Robert Swab; and by three sisters: Eileen Samek, Wilma Grant, and Marguerite Swab.
