Hamilton Funeral Held at Nashua (from Waterloo Courier, Monday, September 23, 1929)

Nashua, Iowa: Mrs. Mary Hamilton died Saturday at her home on a farm six miles west of here where she had resided 42 years. She was a resident of this county for 77 years.

Mrs. Hamilton was eldest of a family of seven children of whom Mrs. Ellen Smith of Nashua is the sole survivor. Mary was born at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and when three years old, was brought to Nashua by her parents who settled on a farm near here.

She was married in 1880 to John Hamilton, who died seven years ago. A son and a daughter, Charles and Grace, survive. Another daughter and a son-in-law, Mr & Mrs. Charwick, died, and their daughter, Ethel, made her home with Mrs. Hamilton several years.

The funeral was conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, Rev. William Kent officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
