Death of Mrs. George Pringle

At her home in Pleasant Grove township, Floyd county, Iowa, on Friday, Feb. 7, 1902, occurred the death of Mrs. George Pringle.

Georgia Anna Smith, the eldest daughter of Henry and Plooma Smith, was born on the 25th day of February, 1856, in Sebec, Maine. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1866 and located in Pleasant Grove township. In 1873 she became a member of the Methodist church, and has ever since been a very active and influential member of this church. In the year 1876 she was united in marriage to Mr. Geo. Pringle. Four children were born to them, three of which survive her, Allan J., Plooma E., and Benjamin L. Pringle.

The deceased had been sick but a few days. When medical aid was called she was pronounced seriously ill with pneumonia and all obtainable assistance was provided, but it was too late and death claimed her at 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mrs. Pringle was a public spirited and kind hearted woman, always ready to attend to the afflicted in her neighborhood. She was considered a good nurse and never failed to go where she thought she was needed. Her death was a shock to the entire community.

Besides her husband and children she leaves a father, Mr. Henry Smith, and one sister, Mrs. Hattie A. Briscoe, together with a large circle of friends, to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. S. Cole at the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the remains were laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
