Services for Joseph Kraninger, 67, rural Alta Vista, Iowa, who died Friday [in October 1976 - per SSDI data] in the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, [Charles City, Iowa] were held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Hauser Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Weber, pastor of the United Church of Christ, Colwell, officiated, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Joseph Darrell Kraninger was born July 11, 1909, in Council Bluffs, son of Joseph and Mary McDowell Kraninger.

He was married to Agnes Brewer, July 11, 1955, in Alta Vista. He farmed in the Charles City area since 1949. Kraninger served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife in 1961.

Survivors include his brother, Roy Kraninger, rural Alta Vista; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy High, Emmetsbug and Mrs. Virginia Holderman, Coon Rapids; a step-son, Norvill D. Brewer, Chrystal City, MO.; a half brother, Everett Jackson, Santa Rosa, Calif., and a half sister, Mrs Rose Antoine, Temple City, Calif.
