In Response To: Monnahan (Paul)

I contacted you some time ago about our (Burch'es) line. I have alot of updating to do, but probably won't get to much of it until after the holidays.
I don't know if I told you the last time I contacted you that somewhere around here I have J. P. Monnahan's pension records from the civil war. Our information for his service match somewhat, with the exception that I have him as serving in Company E ninth Cavalry and that he was disabled by a hip problem, leading to an early discharge.
My dad started out as a farmer, did some sales work with the Jewel T company, was a heavy equipment operator in road construction, doing some of this work in the La Junta,CO area before 1940. In later years, he ran a sawmill in Buffalo CenterIA,ThompsonIA,and in Gordonsvilleuntil the time of his death in 1958.
I have several more uupdates to share, but, as I said, probably not until after the holidays.
