Malvina Williams

Funeral services for Malvina Williams were held at 11:00 a.m. at the Clermont Funeral Chapel in Clermont, Rev. Kim Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in God's Acres Cemetery. The soloist was Daphne Deering accompanied by Patricia Butikofer, organist.

Malvina Agnes Williams, daughter of Lars and Dora (Johnson) Sampson, was born March 15, 1899 near Clermont. She died April 8, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

She attended the rural schools near Clermont and was a confirmed member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church.

June 3, 1917 she was united in marriage with Guy T. Williams at Hugo, CO. They were parents of 4 children. They came to the Clermont area in 1930.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Hubert, Francis C. and Donald G., 2 brothers, Selmar and Millard Sampson and 2 sisters, Helen Bereson and Daisy Stry.

Surviving are her husband, Guy, a daughter, Vera and her husband, Page Wirkler of Postville, two sisters, Clara Burget of California and Esther Johnson of Illinois, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Williams of Oelwein.

Casket bearers were: David, Drew and Robert Deering, Daryl Sampson, Rockie Williams and Rowland Hackmann.

Interment of the cremains of Francis C. Williams, born October 30, 1919 at Clermont, IA; died November 22, 1980 at Odessa, TX and Donald G. Williams, born September 14, 1923 at Hugo, CO, died September 18, 1984 at Davenport, IA was held in God's Acre Cemetery April 11, 1986.
