Anna E. Walvatne

Anna Walvatne was born in Madison, MN, on may 16, 1892, to Knut and Bertha Kleppe Osterhus. She came to Iowa with her folks when she was three weeks old. She died Jan. 18, 1978, at the Good Samaritan home in West Union at the age of 85 years.

Anna Osterhus was united in marriage to Enoch Walvatne on March 16, 1912. To this union six children were born, Clarice (Mrs. Joe Nelson), Blanche (Mrs. Earl Jacobson), Lila (Mrs. Lloyd Loftsgard), Irene (Mrs. Howard Johanson), Erwin and Olbert.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Enoch; 1 daughter, Irene; 2 sons, Erwin and Olbert (both in infancy); 3 sisters, Cora (Mrs. Lewis Schweinefus), Berthina, and 1 sister (Berthina, in infancy) (sic); 4 brothers, Kernel, Milford, Lowrie and Henry; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Mae (Mrs. Art Chensvold), Amanda (Mrs. Knut Knutson); 1 brother, Edwin; 3 daughters, 13 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Anna was a member of First Lutheran Church and lived in this area all her life.
