John Mishler was born September 14, 1857 in Bern, Switzerland, coming to this contry when but six months old. He was united in marriage to Miss Florence Hurelle May 10, 1887.

To this union eight children were born: John S., Roy (Ray?), Hugh and Mrs. E. A. Dixon of Oelwein; Charles of Bridger, Montana; Mabel of Doylestown, Wisconsin; Harry of Watertown, Wisconsin; Frances of Columbus, Wisonsin, who with their mother mourn the loss of a most devoted, loving and patient husband and father.

Mr. Mishler resided in Fall River, Wisconsin, where he farmed until his failing health forced him to retire. He came to Oelwein eight years ago where he has since made his home. He was an excellent citizen, winning the highest esteem from all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. I. E. Wade officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
