The remains of Mrs. J. E. Graham were brought here from Chicago Tuesday, and the funeral was held in the Congregational church at 1:30 p. m. Services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Paine, and she was laid at rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery north of Fayette.
Rosetta Epps was born Aug. 22, 1856, on a farm north of Fayette. Here she grew to womanhood, and was united in marriage to Charles Jackson, and their home was at Dubuque. They were the parents of three children, of whom two survive—Mrs. Gracie Hunt of Chicago, and Edward Jackson of Elgin, Ill. Mr. Jackson died nineteen years ago in Dubuque. In May, 1900, she was united in marriage to J. E. Graham. For some years they made their home in Fayette, then in Oelwein, later in Cresco, and finally moved to Chicago, where she passed away after a three years’ illness. Mrs. Graham became a member of the Methodist church in Dubuque, and at the time of her death held a membership in the Congregational aid society in Fayette. Besides friends already mentioned she leaves four brothers— Jesse Epps of Dubuque, Lemuel Epps of Volga City, Edward Epps of Los Angeles, and Elisha Epps of Cresco, and two sisters - Mrs. Elizabeth Graham of Cresco and Mrs. George Moore of Fayette.—Cor. West Union Argo.
