Whose death we announced last week, was buried Friday afternoon, funeral at the house at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. M.S. Rice. The following sketch of her life was made a part of the service:
Eva H. R. Nevilier was born at Gilmore, Ill., on Nov. 18, 1864, where she lived until she removed with her parents to Iowa in the year 1881. She was united in marriage to Chalmers Dorland in the year 1885. Six children have been born to this union, one of whom died in infancy. Sister Dorland joined the Methodist church in the year 1883 or very near thereabouts. She has been a faithful member of our church, and in her modest life has been more of an inspiration to many who knew her than she could ever know. She bad a sweet, motherly instinct, and upon her home continuously shed the benediction of a full, round christian influence. She died in peace August 14, 1901. The only dread she had as she looked death squarely in the face, was the dread of leaving her family, for whom she was so willing to labor and sacrifice that they might have the best she could give. May God bless the good of her example to the good of us all, and make in us more of the spirit which is beyond the power of the world to estimate.
