On March 29, 1953 she received the sacrament of Christian baptism and was received into the fellowship of St. Paul’s Methodist Church.

Last December her health began to fail and after a period of hospitalization she seemed to rally only to have to return to the hospital again where her condition became worse and she passed on last Thursday at the age of 58 years, having been preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters: Mrs. Ida Frederich and Mrs. Louisa Pfister; and two brothers, Willie and John. She is survived by her two sons, James of Oelwein and Robert of Marion; two sisters: Miss Mollie Schneider of Elgin and Mrs. Elizabeth Nygard of Waterloo; and three brothers: Sam and Ben Jr. of Elgin, and Emil of Clermont, and two grandchildren.

Following services her body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in the family lot in the Apostolic Cemetery south-east of Elgin, Iowa.
