Otto Daniels, son of William & Ida Daniels, was born at Garlaroz, Germany, December 2, 1904, and died at his home in Elgin, Iowa on Thursday morning, May 21, 1936. His death was due to heart trouble from which he had been suffering since last fall.
At the age of six he came to this country with his parents. He lived near Elkader for a number of years and on December 27, 1928, he was united in marriage to Minnie Schneider at Nashua, Iowa. Two children, James Edward and Robert Lee, were born to this union. Following his marriage they lived in West Bend, Iowa for a short time and have lived at Elgin, Iowa where he followed the occupation of farming for a time and since was employed at the local lumberyard.
Deceased is survived by his widow and two children, his parents, and three brothers and three sisters, Gus and Walter and Gertrude and Olga, all living at Stanwood, Michigan, and William and Mary of Waterloo, Iowa.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, May 24, at the Apostolic Church east of Elgin, and burial made in the church cemetery. Services were in charge of Rev. Emil Moor & Rev. Jake Gehring, Jr.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were, William and Mary Daniels of Waterloo; Gus, Walter, and Gertrude Daniels of Stanwood, Mich., Lew Schneider and daughter Edna, and Sadie Talshaw and Joe Thoman of West Bend.
