Funeral services for Therese Kaiser, age 76, of West Union, Iowa were held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. Reverend Dale Rausch officiated and burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, rural West Union. Mrs. Kaiser died on Friday June 28, 2013 in Eldridge, Iowa surrounded by her children.

Eloise "Therese" was born June 22, 1937 to Thomas and Katherine (Maher) McDonald in Imogene, Iowa. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy Catholic School in 1955 in Imogene. Therese earned a degree in registered nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1958. On December 27, 1961 she was united in marriage with Paul Lee Kaiser at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs. To this union were born four children.

Therese began a lengthy nursing career at Palmer Memorial Hospital in 1962. She spent the next 45 years serving the community of West Union and Fayette County, Iowa caring for the young,the adults,and the elderly. She spent those years working in the hospital, the clinic, and eventually as a visiting home healthcare nurse to the elderly of Fayette County. In addition to actively following all of her grandchildren's activities, Therese loved spending time with Paul, her husband of 51 years, in a variety of activities which included playing golf, playing cards, and gambling at the boat. She was an active member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.

She is survived by her four children: Kathie (Chris) Lampe of Bellevue, Iowa, Marty (Marianne) Kaiser of Rockton, Illinois, Peggy (Brent) Ohl of Eldridge, and Joe (Francesca) Kaiser of Ely, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Matt Lampe, Sam Lampe, Anna Lampe, Sarah Lampe, Nathan Kaiser, Rachel Kaiser, Tom Ohl, and Charlie Ohl; four siblings: Katherine Laughlin, Jim McDonald, John (Marge) McDonald, and Eleanor (Frank) Eller.
