"Pat" Jacobson, age 69, died peacefully at her home in Hawkeye, Iowa surrounded by her family on Saturday June 29, 2013 after a struggle with cancer. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 with interment in the West Union Cemetery.
Patricia Ann was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Lovina (Beltz) Schulte on August 26, 1943. She attended Catholic School in Carroll, Iowa before attending high school in Arlington, Iowa. On November 6, 1960 Pat was wed to Carl Loomis at the Catholic Church in Volga, Iowa. They were the parents of six children. On June 17, 1989 she was united in marriage with Eugene A. "John" Jacobson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
In addition to being a homemaker, Pat was employed as a telephone switchboard operator, a bartender and cook. On May 2, 1992 she and her husband John purchased PJ's in Hawkeye which they operated for over ten years. Pat retired in 2005. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. Pat thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing, dancing and cooking.
Survivors include her children: Kevin (Marlene "Marty") Loomis of Postville, Iowa, William "Bill" (Jackie) Loomis of Hawkeye, Iowa, Keith Loomis of Fredericksburg, Iowa, Eddie Loomis of Hawkeye, Carla Engelhardt(Keith Kleve) of Waucoma, Iowa; three step-children Nancy Jacobson, Lori Johansen, and Bart Jacobson; 19 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine "Kathy" (Frank) Watterson of Tucson, Arizona; a brother William "Bill" (Margaret) Duffy of Houston,Texas and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Jacobson on August 13, 2001; a grandson in June 2012, and a special friend Kenna Helgerson McFarlane.
