OBITUARIES
Dorothy Aue Services Held

Funeral services for Dorothy Aue were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, at United Methodist Church, West Union, with Dr. Herbert Foxworthy as officiant Interment following the 2 p.m. service, was in the West Union Cemetery with pallbearers Howard Herschinger, Charles Freund, Scott Sindelar, Steve Sindelar, Sidney Crowe and Lee Voshell. Burnham-Wood Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Dorothy Eckhardt Aue, daughter of Cornelius and Annie Laura (Kaiser) Eckhardt, was born Jan. 13, 1900, in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Business High School in Washington, D.C Oct. 6,1920, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Aue, Washington, D.C, and to this union was born one daughter. For 30 years, Dorothy worked for, the United States Government as a clerk-typist. In 1962, she moved to West Union to live with her daughter. She had been a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Washington, D.C., and the United Methodist Church, West Union, and also bowled in the West Union Women's Association until 1977.

Feb. 25, her death occurred at the Good Samaritan Home, West Union, at the age of 90 years, one month and 12 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1959; great-granddaughter, Wendy Marie Swale, and two sisters, Amy Walton and Edna Eckhardt.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie Swale, West Union; one granddaughter, Judith Vint, Holts Summit, Mo; two grandsons, David C. Swale, West Union, and Thomas E. Swale, Sarasota, Fla.; one great-grandson, Ryan David Swale, West Union, and two sisters, Christena Imirie, Bethesda, Md., and Sarah Jane Edge, Venice, Fla.
