SERVICES HELD FOR ELGIN WOMAN

Funeral services were held at 10 30 a.m. Tuesday. Aug. 4. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Elgin, for Kathryn Grove Rev. Richard Kretzschmar officiated and interment was in the Elgin Cemetery Pallbearers were Jay Dummermuth, James L. Frieden, Jeff Cline. Bill Dummermuth. David Strong and Michael Cline.

Kathryn Marie Grove, daughter of Dr. Samuel and Clara Schori Kuster. was born November 6, 1903, at Elgin. She was raised and educated in the area After her graduation from Cornell College Kathryn began her teaching career in Winthrop. She was united in marriage to Willard J Grove on November 30. 1928. At this time she continued teaching intermittently in a number of Iowa high schools until her retirement as librarian at Valley in 1973.

Her husband. Willard. preceded her in death on Dec 17, 1969. Kathryn was active in PEO. Eastern Star, the Progress Club and Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her son. David, of Clinton a sister. Mrs. Elizabeth Alleman of Burlingame. CA a niece Annette Freger, great nieces. Linda and Sharon, and cousins.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a son. Bruce, in 1939. and a daughter, Marie, in 1945.
