DEATH OF U.E. ANDERSON

Elmer Anderson, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith of West Union and a brother of Mrs. H.H. House of West Union, died Wednesday night, after an illness of less than four days. He was forty-five years of age. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Methodist church in West Union, conducted by Rev. H.C. Culver, and interment was made in the West Union cemetery. A large concourse of neighbor and friends testified by their presence at the funeral to their regard for the deceased.

Ulysses Elmer Anderson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson, of Clermont Iowa, was born in Clermont township March 2, 1872, and died at his home in Dover township Wednesday evening, July 25, his death being due to septic pneumonia and blood poisoning. He was taken sick Sunday morning previous to his death, although he had been in poor health for several months. He was forty-five years, four months, and thirteen days bid at the time of his death.

He was married to Miss Elizabeth Smith of Dover township March 20, 1901, and to them were born five children;Grace, Lois, Charles, Ruth, and Clara, all of whom with his wife survive him.

Besides his immediate family he leaves his parents; two brothers, Herbert and Lester of Lavina, Mont; and four sisters, Mrs. H.H. House of West Union, Mrs. J.G. Learn, Mrs. H.A. Lubke, and Miss Ruth Anderson of Clermont; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Anderson was converted and joined the Evangelical church in Dover township in 1892, and remained in the church until his death. He was also a member of the Modern Wood Men of America. Mr. Anderson was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in his home.
