GRAVESIDE SERVICES FOR FAYETTE WOMAN

Graveside services were held Wednesday. Aug. 5. at 4:30 p.m. for Selma V. Dennis, 66, Fayette, at Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. Arrangements were by Kerns-Jamison Funeral Home, Maynard. Mrs. Dennis died Monday, Aug. 3, at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union, following a lengthy illness.

Selma Dennis was born Nov 10, 1920, at rural Elgin to Charlie T. Odegard and Lydia Ida Hofer. She was married to Frederick Dennis on Aug. 31, 1940, at Cedar Rapids. They lived the past 43 years in Fayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred and Gladys, two brothers. Floyd and Robert, and one great grandchild, Joshua John.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick: three-daughters, Mrs. Gay (Linda) Caldwell and Mrs. Ray (Marian) Harford, both of West Union, and Anna Dennis, Cedar Rapids; two sons, David Dennis, England, and Richard Dennis, The Plains, VA; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers: Glen Odegard, Elgin, and Lavern Odegard, Cedar Rapids, and three sisters. Mrs. Melvin (Verna) Nutting, Calmar; Mrs. Ervin (lone) Nyberg, West Union, and Miss JoAnn Odegard, Elgin.
