SERVICES HELD FOR AREA FARMER

Funeral services were held for Donald Kleppe at First Lutheran Church, rural West Union on Wednesday. Aug. 5 at 10 30 a.m. Rev. Roger McKinstry officiated with interment in First Lutheran Cemetery Burnham-Wood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Marvin Helgerson, Melvin Molokken, Edwin Molokken, Kenneth Meyer, Leslie Kleppe, Larry Moritz, Lloyd Wiedow, Doug Kleppe and Dale Pape.

Donald Peter Kleppe, son of Peter and Ella (Knudsvig) Kleppe, was born November 17, 1926 at Ossian. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed on September 7, 1941 at First Lutheran Church. He attended Dover Township school and graduated from Ossian High School in 1945.

On September 16. 19S6 he was united in marriage to Marlys Lucille McNally in Postville To this union were born four children. He farmed all his life in Fayette County and was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church.

Donald died on August 2,1987, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Janice.

He is survived by his wife, Marlys: his daughter. Sheri Ihde of Postville: three sons, Wayne of West Union, Lee of Postville and Mark at home, six grandchildren, Krista. Heidi. Leann. Bradley, Nathan and Derek: one step grandchild, Amanda and his mother, Ella of Ossian.
