The body of Addison Dewey, who died in Oshkosh, Wisconsin December 13, 1926, which has been held in a mausoleum there until now, was brought here for burial Wednesday, July 20, the burial taking place at the Center Grove cemetery northwest of town, conducted by Rev. D. M. Parker.
Accompanying the body were Mrs. Dewey (known here in her early life as Ida Anna), her daughter Mrs. Fell of Peoria, Ill., her granddaughter, Mrs. May Darling of Beloit, Wisconsin and her grandson, Charles Fell of Peoria.
Addison Dewey was a veteran of the Civil War, being a member of Co. C 4th Iowa Infantry and took part Sherman's historic "march to the sea". The Dewey family came to this county in 1854 and resided north of Maynard for many years and .... is one surviving, Franklin Dewey of Fayette. ....... of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mrs. Fell and son , Charles of Peoria, Ill. and Mrs May Darling of Beloit, Wis., who came Wednesday to the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Owen, for the funeral, remained until Saturday morning.

Additional information is provided by Connie Ellis . Connie is an Owen researcher but not in the Hanna line except for Cora Hanna..Mrs. M.L. Owen who is listed in the first sentence of the obituary would have been Mrs. Martin Lyle Owen who was Cora Anna Hanna. Cora and Martin farmed in Westfield Township in Fayette County, Iowa. They are both buried in the Grandview Cemetery in Fayette, Iowa. Cora Anna was born in 1865 to Betsy M. (1836 – 1870) and John Thomas Hanna (1832 – 1907). The last name is sometimes spelled as Hannah. Mrs. Hanna’s surname is unknown. John and Betsy Hannah can be found in the 1870 Federal Census for Westfield Township in Fayette County. John is listed as age 40 and born in Pennsylvania. Betsy was 34 and born in New York. Their children are: Ida, age 14 (who married Addison Dewey), Chester, age 12, Florence, age 9, Corie, age 5, and Peter, was a baby listed as 4/12. The children were born in Iowa. John, Betsy, and Flora Hanna are also buried in the Grandview Cemetery in Fayette, Iowa.
