W A U C O M A — Funeral services for Mrs. Will Kent, 87, who died in Masonic hospital at Chicago, ILL., Oct 23, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Federated church. Rev. Harold Pearson, Texas, grandson in-law, was in charge of services, with Reed's Funeral home making the arrangements. Music was by Mrs. Roy Richards, Mrs. Don Whalen, Mrs. Don Bygness and Mrs. Robert Fox, New Hampton.
Burial was in Waucoma cemetery with Kenneth Kent, Jr., Harold Kent, Lloyd Bulls, Don Rasholt, Allan Otters and Daryl Wagner as casket bearers.
Catherine Brinklow was born in Bow Brikle, England, May 15, 1874. She came to this country in 1897 to visit relatives in Manchester, met Will Kent, also from England, and they were married Oct. 14, 1897. They were the parents of three daughters,
Lillian, Mrs. Harvey Vick; Florence, Mrs. Clarence Otters; Kathryn, Mrs. Daryl Wagner, and two sons, Harold, Chicago, ILL., and Kenneth, Alpha.The Kents came to Waucoma in 1900, where Mr. Kent was a blacksmith. In 1925, Mr. Kent went to Chicago, where he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad, Mrs. Kent remaining in Waucoma. Mr. Kent returned to Waucoma in 1948. Later, he went back to Chicago to work and then returned to Waucoma, where they lived during the summer. They spent the winters in Chicago with their children. A year ago they went there to remain. Mr. Kent died July 27, 1961.
Surviving are the five children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two half brothers, Harry Cannon, Fawcett, Canada, and Walter Cannon, Coventry, England, and two half sisters, Mrs. Florence Hollis and Mrs. James Sykes, both of Buckingham Bucks, England.
She was preceded in death by her husband
