RITES HELD AT WAUCOMA FOR WILLIAM KENT, 86

WAUCOMA — Funeral services for William Kent, 86, who died Thursday in a Chicago, ILL., hospital, where he had major surgery, were conducted Sunday afternoon from the family home with. Reed's Funeral home in charge. Rev. Harold A. Pearson, Dallas, Texas, was the clergyman. Interment was in Waucoma cemetery with Paul Knox; Richard Smith, Howard Smith, Dew-vey Chizek, H. M. Lovrien and Gerald Richards'as pallbearers.

William Kent was born in Dunstable, England, Sept. 3, 1874. He came to Manchester in 1893, and was married to Kate E. Brinklow on Oct. 14, 1897, his bride also coming from England. To them were born five children, Lillian, Mrs. Harvey Vick, Richton, ILL.; Florence, . Mrs. Clarence Otters, Glenview, ILL.; Kenneth, Alpha; Kathryn, Mrs. Daryle Wagner, Richton Park, 111., and Harold Kent, Evanston, 111.

Mr. Kent joined the Masonic ledge in November of 1897 at Strawberry Point, before they moved to Waucoma. They went to Chicago in 1925 after his retirement, then came back to Waucoma. Here he was a blacksmith and at Chicago, overseeing mail as it went on the trains. Surviving are, his widow, five children, 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
