A.A. Thompson died Tuesday evening at his home in this city, after a lingering illness of two years.
Deceased was born in Norway in 1830 and came to America in his youth, settling at Waterloo, Wis., where on June 29, 1853, he married Miss Eliza Farrier. They came to Iowa in 1865, locating in Stapleton township in this county, moving from there yo Alpha, where they lived until they moved to New Hampton twelve years ago.
He was the father of two children Mrs. children Mrs. James Hillsinger of New Hampton and Daniel Thompson of Alpha, who with his life companion mourn his death.
The funeral was held Thursday morning from the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. D.M. Parker and the body taken to Alpha for interment in Bethel cemetery.
