Funeral services for Leo Wolfs were held Monday, July 30 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, West Union at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Robert Salge. Interment was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.

Leo Joseph Wolfs, son of Lewis and Amanda (Walvatne) Wolfs, was born August 27, 1907 near Clermont. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Ossian, Iowa. He attended Dover No. 6 school. He was united in marriage to Irene Nelson at the Clermont Lutheran parsonage October 8, 1931. To this union three children were born. Leo farmed in the West Union area until 1972 after which they moved to West Union. He was a life long member of the Lutheran Church.

Leo died Thursday, July 26, 1990, at the Sunrise Guest Home, Fredericksburg, Iowa, at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 30 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Frances Wolfs, and his brother Otto Wolfs.

He is survived by his wife, Irene, a son Lewis Wolfs of Monona, Iowa, two daughters, Frances, Mrs. Leslie Lauer of Eldorado, Iowa and Helen, Mrs.John Wingler of Abbottsford, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren, a step-grandson, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jennie Guyer of Clermont and Hazel Evenson of Ossian, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
