Kenneth L. Halter Sr.

Kenneth L. Halter Sr., 54, of Maynard, formerly of Melbourne, died Friday, February 4, 2000, at the Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union. Graveside services were held Monday, February 7, at the Melcourne Cemetery, Melbourne, with the Rev. Lowell E. Hoyle.

He was born on October 5, 1945, in Marshalltown to Lester and Alice Mae (Schoneweise) Halter. He was raised and educated in Melbourne.

He moved to Traer in 1971 and then moved to Maynard in 1975 where he farmed near Randalia and worked at ABCO Engineering in Oelwein.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Jr.; two daughters, Karla (Mrs. Pete) Duff of Volga and Kelly (Mrs. Troy) Knott of Hudson; four grandchildren; four brothers, Roy of Dumont, Max of Des Moines, Larry of Alaska and Bill of Ackley; and four sisters, Wilma Sutton and Delores Berry of Baxter, Iva Reid of Maynard and Mary Clark of Melbourne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Dorothy. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 10 Feb 2000.
