Hawkeye, Ia. - SPECIAL: Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Ungerer, 81, who died at her farm house Saturday noon after an illness of a year, were held here Monday afternoon at the farm house at 1:30 and 2 o'clock at the Trinity Lutheran Church here. Rev. E. W. Kraemer, pastor, officiated. Burial was made here.

Pallbearers were Henry, Bill, Leroy, Albert and Fred Ungerer and John Boettcher.

As Magdaline Schlatter, daughter of Jacob and Christine Schlatter, she was born just east of Hawkeye, November 15, 1862. She was married to Fred Ungerer Sr., April 12, 1883 at the Old Brick Church by Rev. Conrad Ide, near her home where she was also baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. They lived on their farm just south of here all of their married lives except for twelve years ago when they moved to Hawkeye and 9 months ago due to her ill health went to live with their son Fred Jr., on the old home farm.

She is survived by her husband; five sons; Henry, Will, Leroy, Albert and Fred Jr. all of Hawkeye, six daughters; Mrs. (Lizzie) Leonard, Mrs. (Rena) Will Fritz, Mrs. (Marie) Henry Hauth, Mrs. Sarah Schultz, Mrs. (Ella) Gus Regalske, Mrs. (Emma) John Boettcher ; 40 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Willman all of Hawkeye.

One son Walter, died when 11 years old and a daughter Ida died infancy.
