Maynard, Ia. April 21,- Special:
Mrs. Sarah Maynard, 84, a pioneer resident of Maynard, died at her home Thursday. She was born Feb. 14, 1846 at Streetsboro, Ohio, and was the second of a family of five children. Her parents were George and Maria Rich. At the age of five years she moved with her parents to Boone County, Ill. Later, in 1861, they settled in Maynard. She was married to Schyler Maynard Sept. 19, 1866, at the home of her parents. They were the parents of one son George.

Mr. Maynard died Feb. 25, 1927. Immediate relatives surviving are her son George and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bennet, Salida, Colorado, and Mrs. Laura Sargeant, Davis, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Saturday afternoon, conducted by P. P. Jennison, assisted by Rev. W. F. Caldwell.

Hymns were sung by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Kooker, Roy Cummings and Mrs. J. E. Bartels with Mrs. C. H. Nordyke at the piano.

Mrs. Maynard was a local member of Reynolds Relief Corps and members of the order were honorary pallbearers. Casket bearers were Messrs. A. G. Simpson, F. Schmitt, J. Hamrick, F. Hitchings, M. Freeman and W. D. Simpson.
