Leo Robert Dennler was born at Elgin, Iowa, on May 11, 1925. He attended the rural schools near Elgin, where he received his elementary education. He was baptized on September 15, 1935, and united with the St. Paul's Methodist Church in 1945.

He was united in marriage at Elkader to Mary Gooden, August 17, 1950. They became the parents of two children.

Mr. Dennler's entire life was spent in the Elgin community where he was employed in various occupations. At the time of his injury, which resulted in his death, he was working as a farm employee. Mr. Dennler died at the Postville Community Hospital last Friday morning, July 7, at the age of 36 years, 1 month and 18 days.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; their two children, James, who is 10, and Linda, 6; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lehman, all of Elgin; a brother, LaVerne, Elkader; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Elgin cemetery and pallbearers were Norbert and Melbert Butikofer, Robert and Virgil Dennler, Elkader; Glenn Odegaard and Wm. Dennler, Elgin.
