West Union, Ia.,- Mrs. J. L. Ishman, 79, died suddenly Monday morning, Aug. 23, at the home of her son, Ben, east of West Union. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the funeral home and burial will be in the city cemetery.Mrs. Ishman was born in Auburn, northwest of West Union, May 14, 1864, and resided in that community until about twenty five years ago, when she and her husband, whom she married in September 1886, moved to West Union to reside. A little more than a year ago they gave up their home in town going to reside with their son on the farm. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936, and had she lived until this years anniversary they would have spent 57 years together.
The husband and five of their seven children survive, also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The children are; Mrs. Roy Ludrick of Auburn; James Benjamin Ishman, Elgin; Albert A. Ishman, Clarence Ishman, West Union; and Will Ishman also of Auburn.
