Last rites for Thomas E. Howard, 78, who died in Postville Community hospital last Saturday evening were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday from St. Paul's Methodist church. Rev. LeeRoy Collins officiated. Interment was in Elgin cemetery with Muehlethalers in charge.

Mr. Howard, a retired farmer, spent his entire life in this area.

Surviving are his wife, Ann; two sons, Robert, Monroe, Mich. and Archie; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Inez Shaffer, and a brother, Reuben.
