Obituary. LARRY DEAN KLAMMER. WESTGATE - Larry Dean Klammer was born in Sumner, Iowa July 13, 1945 to Arnold Klammer sr., and his wife Arvilia nee Gulbransen. He was presented for baptism when he was 13 days old. The baptism was administered at St. Peter's Lutheran church, Westage, by the Rev. Otto Schultz. Larry received his education by attending the Westgate parochial school and also the Westgage public school as well as West Central High school at Maynard, where he graduated on May 24, 1963. Larry attended the pastor's confirmation classes from the fall of 1958 to the spring of 1960 and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, april 10, 1960 at Zion American Lutheran church, Oelwein, by the Rev. Paul C. Lutz. Since July of this year Larry had been employed by the Products Handling, Inc. at marine on St. Croiz, Minn. About a month ago he broke a bone in his left foot, necessitating a cast. Friday evening, Nov. 29, 1963 at about 6:15 p.m. as he was enroute to the parental home at Westgate he was killed in an accident involving his car and a Chicago Great Western train north of Rochester, Minn. Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Lavon, Mrs. Harold Teem of Waterloo; two brothers, Arnold jr. and Russell, and twin sisters, Janelle and Janene, at home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Conie Gulbransen of Brookings, S.D. and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Martha Klammer of Westgate. The deceased attained the age of 18 years, 4 months and 16 days. Funeral services were held at the Brant funeral home and Zion American Lutheran church, Oelwein, on Monday afternoon Dec. 2, 1963 at 1:30 and 2:00. Mrs. Walter Kutschat presided at the organ console and Donna and Candice Fortune sang an anthem. The casket bearers were Harold Teem, Arnold Klammer jr , Russell Klammer, Kent Hubbell, John Johnson and Robert Lang. Interment was at Midway cemetery in Moody county, S.D. on Tuesday afternoon. Dec. 3, 1963.
