Stanley Anderson

Stanley Dean Anderson, son of Leslie and Jeanette Marie (Everman) Anderson, was born February 14, 1948, in the Decorah Hospital at Decorah, Iowa. He died August 18, 1994, at his home in Colona, Illinois, after a lengthy illness. He was 46 years old.

Stanley was baptized in 1948 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia and confirmed there in 1962. He graduated from the Valley High School at Elgin, Iowa and attended college at Sheldon, Iowa.

Stanley farmed with his father until 1972. He became a Journeyman for the Amana Society in Amana, Iowa, where he lived. Later he moved to the Port Byron and Colona, Illinois area where he was a journeyman for the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric company. Stan's nieces and nephews were a very important part of his life. He also enjoyed being with his many friends and had a generous heart, always willing to help family and friends at any time.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother, Jeanette Anderson. Surviving is his father, Leslie Anderson and his stepmother, Evelyn Anderson of Clermont, a brother, Lyle Anderson of Otis, Ore., two sisters, Janice and her husband, Roger Torson of Cedar Rapids and Marilyn and her husband Roger Falb of Elgin, eight nephews and nieces, Darin Torson, Ryan Torson, Amber Torson, and Shannon Falb and his wife, Wendi, all of Cedar Rapids; Shaun Anderson and Tina Anderson, both of Otis, Ore., and Wendy Falb and Shane Falb, both of Elgin, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 22, 1994, in the West Clermont church at Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Harry Peterson officiated. Patricia Butikofer was the organist and Arthur Amundson was the soloist. The Schutte Funeral service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in God's Acres Cemetery at Clermont.
