Wilfred J. Dietzenbach, age 88 of New Hampton, formerly of St. Lucas died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Wilfred John Dietzenbach was born June 5, 1923, on the family farm near St. Lucas, IA, the son of Andrew and Cecelia (Kipp) Dietzenbach. He received his education in Festina and St. Lucas. On September 1, 1948, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, he married Leona Theresa Schmitt. To this union five sons were born. The couple farmed northeast of St. Lucas until retiring into St. Lucas in 2003. Leona died on September 28, 2008 at the age of 84. Wilfred became a resident of the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in July of 2009.
Survivors include four sons, Darryl (Diane) Dietzenbach, Loren (Donna) Dietzenbach all of New Hampton, Marvin (Nancy) Dietzenbach of Decorah, Gary (Lori) Dietzenbach of Ft. Atkinson; eight grandchildren, Lori (Troy) Lechtenberg, Ryan Dietzenbach, Tyler Dietzenbach, Amy (Jeremy) Roethler, Erin Dietzenbach, Julie Dietzenbach (Brad Zwanziger), Kelly Dietzenbach, Lexi Dietzenbach; six great-grandchildren, Tarron, Tanner and Tyanna Lechtenberg, Jackson and Grace Roethler, Landon Zwanziger; one sister, Germaine Holthaus of Festina; four sisters-in-law, Cordula Doucet of LaCrosse, WI, Rose Rilling, Madonna Schmitt, Therese Schmitt, all of Ft. Atkinson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Leona; his parents; a son, Alan; two brothers, Al (Bernadine) Dietzenbach and Francis in infancy; three sisters, Agnes (Luke) Blong, Catherine (John) Meinert, Hildegard (Ray) Brincks; one brother-in-law, Rudy Holthaus.
