Leona T. Dietzenbach, 84, of St. Lucas, died Sunday, Sept. 28, at West Union Good Samaritan Center, West Union.
She was born Sept. 14, 1924, on the Schmitt family farm near St. Lucas, daughter of Peter T. and Mary Blong Schmitt. She married Wilfred Dietzenbach on Sept. 1, 1948, at St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Dietzenbach and her husband farmed northeast of St. Lucas, retiring in 2003. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and rosary society, where she had been president.
Survived by: her husband; four sons, Darryl (Diane) and Loren (Donna), both of New Hampton, Marvin (Nancy) of St. Lucas and Gary (Lori) of Fort Atkinson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Colletta Busta and Rose (Merlin) Rilling, both of Fort Atkinson, and Cordula Doucet of Caledonia, Minn.; and four sisters-in-law, Madonna Schmitt of St. Lucas, Rita Schmitt of Decorah, Therese Schmitt of Fort Atkinson and Germaine Holthaus of Festina.
Preceded in death by: a son, Alan, in infancy; four brothers, John E. Schmitt, Roman Schmitt and Alfred Schmitt and Robert Schmitt in infancy; a sister, Theola Schaefer; and three brothers-in-law, Jacob Busta, James Schaefer and D. Joseph Doucet.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, St. Lucas, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at St. Luke's Chapel, St. Lucas, where there will be a 4 p.m. Forester rosary and a 7 p.m. parish Scripture service. Visitation also from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
