John Lofstedt Obituary

John, the second son of Nels and Johanna Lofstedt, was born June 12, 1863
in Skane, Sweden and passed away November 28, 1938 in Oelwein, Iowa.

He came to this country as a young man and started working in a railroad
shop in Burlington, Iowa, and also in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

In 1888 he went to St. Paul, Minn., where he was employed as a blacksmith
in the C. G. W. shops.

In 1891 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Johnson. To this union
were born two daughters, Mrs. Ray Catlin of Oelwein and Mrs. Annette Golly
of Des Moines, Iowa.

In 1898 he moved with his family to Oelwein and continued in the employ of
the C. G. W. shops until he retired about a year ago.

Mr. Lofstedt was known for his kindness and loving disposition and made
friends easily.

He loved his church, but of late years his hearing was not so good so he
prefered to listen to the services over the radio.

His sudden passing was such a shock to his family. He was a loving
husband, good and kind father, always thing of their comfort.

Last services were held at the Brant Funeral Home, November 28th at 2:30
P. M. with Rev. Wm. H. McClurg of the Christian Church officiating.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
