Fayette County Leader, Thursday, 27 July 1944.

The following is from a Corvallis, Oregon, paper:

At the advanced age of 85 years, Mrs. Sarah Ann Webster passed away Wednesday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Spring, of Corvallis Heights.

She was the daughter of Charles and Margaret Stephens, and was born in Earlville, Iowa, May 21st, 1859. Mrs. Webster grew to womanhood and received her education in that state.

In 1884 she was united in marriage to William Webster of Fayette, Iowa, where they lived their entire married life. They had two children, a daughter, Maye, and son, Charles. The latter, a Marine in World War I, passed away in 1930. Since Mr. Webster's death in 1912, Mrs. Webster has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Spring.

In the nearly 30 years which she lived in Corvallis Mrs. Webster, through her personality, ready wit, and kindly acts to others, had won to herself many friends.

Survivors are Mr. and Mrs. Spring of Corvallis, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Ian MacDonald of Portland, formerly Helen Spring of Corvallis.
