John P. Sinnott, son of Patrick and Margaret Sinnott, was born October 10, 1876, and passed away in a hospital at Omaha, Nebraska, July 20, 1944, at the age of 68. He had been in failing health for the last two months, and the last three weeks were spent in the hospital.

He spent most of his life working on the railroad in Oelwein and Omaha, except for a few years when he engaged in farming near Fayette.

Survivors are three brothers: Will T. Of Oelwein, Patrick N. of Fayette, and Michael of Buffalo, New York; six nephews and a niece.

Funeral services were held from the St. Francis church in Fayette Monday morning at 9:30. Music was furnished by Miss Mabel Knight, Mr. Shadle, and Mrs. Broghammer. The Rev. Edmund Cooney conducted the service.

Casket bearers were James Richards, Ed Knight, Henry Hettler, Will Killerlain, John Hastings and James McSweeney.

Relatives attending the funeral from a distance included Will Slattery of Masonville, F. W. Sinnott, Mason City, Mrs. Will Sinnott, Oelwein, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sinnott of Hazelton.
