Mrs. J. E. Holmes died at her home in Oelwein Sunday morning at the age of 57 years. She had been ill for several months. She leaves, besides her husband and three children, her mother, Mrs. Jeanette Whitney, two brothers, Frank C., of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Fred N. of Sioux City, Iowa. The children are Mrs. Marie Minor, of Cedar Rapids, Donald Holmes, at Milwaukee, and Richard at home. The funeral was held Tuesday at Randalia and burial made in Dunham Grove cemetery.
