Charles W. Dyer passed away at his home in Maynard Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dyer, he was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., March 17, 1864, and came to Fayette county when a boy with his parents, who settled on a farm three miles west of Fayette, which is said to be the exact center of Fayette county.

On Feb. 19, 1883, he was united in marriage to Cora Alice Cook. They began housekeeping on the Dyer farm later moving to a farm 2 1/2 miles northeast of Maynard where they spent a number of years, later going to Fayette, and Toledo, Ohio. In 1937 they returned to Maynard to be near old friends. He is survived by his wife and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. V. C. Grant officiating.
